We use science to find out ways to preserve this world we are killing. Then we find out there are other worlds out there, and then we plan to possibly move there in case this planet becomes inhospitable due to our exploitations. Is this really the way we have to live? >SIGH< Just to jump from world to world like parasites, finding a new host and discarding the old like a husk. Is that why people really want to pour investment into space maybe?
