Anyone ever see reading material or literature that makes you think "Oh, this is going to be just awful," but you end up reading it anyway? And as the story goes on, you just feel it gets worse and worse but you don't stop. Why the hell is that? That's a problem I think I have. Is that how people felt reading penny dreadfuls?
